ANDREW HILL – VETERINARY SURGEON
Andrew qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 1986 when he joined Eastgate Vets. Prior to going to Vetschool he worked at the research institute at London Zoo.
He spent the next 20 years working with farm animals, then gradually became more involved in the small animal side and running the Mildenhall clinic. He oversaw the conversion of the Courthouse into a veterinary surgery in 2011.
He is married with 4 children and over the years… a variety of different pets!
VICKI RUTLAND – VETERINARY SURGEON
Vicki graduated in 2009 at Bristol University and has worked in the Bury St Edmunds area for 4 years prior to joining us. Her interests include horse riding and walking her black dog Molly.
JANE NEWTON – VETERINARY SURGEON
Jane has been working at Eastgate since 2001, mostly at the Mildenhall and Thetford surgeries. She shares her home with 3 grown up children, 2 bonkers rescue cats, and a few elderly hens! When she’s not working she’s normally found in her lovely garden.
SARAH O’HARE – HEAD NURSE
Sarah qualified in 1993 working in general practice in which she won the Schering Plough Anaesthesia nursing award. In 2004 she won the Blue Cross veterinary nurse of the year. Sarah has a keen interest in animal behaviour and has gone on to gain a BVNA cert in Small Animal Behaviour. She does a lot of work with puppy socialisation classes to help prevent behaviour problems developing as dogs get older. Prior to 2012 Sarah spent seven years working at large veterinary referral practice The Animal Health Trust. She lives with her two dogs, cat, tortoise and a very patient husband that puts up with various animal guests.
ALI WEBB – VETERINARY NURSE
Ali has worked within the Veterinary industry since 1985 and joined the Eastgate team in October 2015.
Her spare time is spent with her partner, children and a variety of animals including dogs, sheep and horses.
AMBER VALE – STUDENT VETERINARY NURSE
Amber’s passion is rescuing & rehabilitating wild hedgehogs. She runs the Burwell Hedgehog Rehabilitation Centre. She has two horses, which she rides regularly, and is particularly keen on show-jumping. She has three dogs, two of which she rescued, a cat that she hand reared from a week old, and 2 african pygmy hedgehogs that she’s obessed with!! She will qualify this year, having just taken her practical exams after 5 years of training. She has worked in 2 previous veterinary practices before stumbling upon clearly the most amazing practice ever. (that being Eastgate of course!)
She loves doing nurse clinics and generally has fun and enjoys life!
EMMA NICHOLSON – BRANCH MANAGER
Emma joined the Mildenhall branch of Eastgate vets in 2005 as a clinical assistant. She is married with 2 grown up sons. She has 3 Border Collies and a terrier, 2 of which were rescue dogs. Her passion is dog agility and travels all over the country competing at weekends.
ELAINE VAUGHAN – RECEPTIONIST
Elaine joined Eastgate in 2010 after spending many years working in the equine industry around the world. She completed a two year course as a Veterinary Care Assistant through the College of Animal Welfare.
Elaine is married with one son and has 3 dogs, 4 cats, several chickens, an elderly retired race horse and a three year old welsh cob. She fosters for Cats Protection and is always taking in strays.
JAYNE DENNISON – RECEPTIONIST
Jayne joined Eastgate in November 2016 and loves working with all the staff and friendly clients.
She has 2 Staffies which she loves to walk although they are both getting older now. She also likes reading if she gets any spare time after looking after her family.
CHERRY BARON – RECEPTIONIST
Cherry has been a Mildenhall receptionist since 2009. She likes organising our promotions, display boards and meeting people. She is married with 2 grown up boys. her passion is to travel and would like to visit 100 different countries, but has only managed 29 so far. She plays badmington at least twice a week and likes horse riding.
AMIE PERRY – APPRENTICE
Amie joined Eastgate Vets in April 2017 as an apprentice, after achieving both level 2 and 3 Business and ICT qualifications. She has one dog and one cat and likes to spend her free time seeing family and friends and going to music events.
GILL ROCHE- RECEPTIONIST
Gill joined us in 2017, but has worked as a Veterinary Receptionist for 17 years. Gill and her husband have a son and a daughter. Gill loves dogs and has a 3 year old Lab x Collie called Patch. When she’s not working she likes to watch motorcycle racing, walk her dog and do activities with her children.
JANETTE GROOMBRIDGE – RECEPTIONIST
Janette has been a veterinary receptionist for 15 years and in 2017moved to Feltwell. She has a small zoo at home, 5 guinea pigs, 1 rabbit, 1 cat and a very spoilt lab x collie. Janette is married to Alan and they love walking in the countyside, especially the forest.
She loves to travel to the Greek and Spanish islands whenever possible, and is very interested in history.
She is a volunteer for the National Trust and is a Room Guide at Oxburgh Hall. Sport plays an important part in her life, and she is passionate about Arsenal Football Club.
