Jo grew up on a farm in Hengrave and joined the Eastgate team in 1981 as an all-rounder doing nursing, laboratory work, accounts and reception. She now works in the administrative office where she is responsible for purchase accounting and the day to day running of the whole practice. At home she has two cats, Charlie and Chester.
Claire is Bury St Edmunds born and raised, and has been with Eastgate since 1983 as an all-round assistant. She has done almost every job in the practice, including nursing, laboratory work, accounts and reception. She now brings this experience to bear in her role as practice manager in the day to day running of the surgery.
Emma joined Eastgate in 2005 as a clinical assistant, before the Mildenhall practice switched sites. She has four dogs at home, and spends her spare time walking and training them. Her passion is dog agility and she competes all over the country, including at Crufts and Olympia.
Ronny joined the practice in 2013, having moved from a surgery in Essex. She lives with her husband and golden retriever in Suffolk. She enjoys socialising with friends, travelling, gardening and cooking her home-grown vegetables and fruit.
Claire joined the practice in 1995 as a receptionist and went on to train as an RVN. She is our insurance administrator – an unenviable role! In her spare time she enjoys visiting new places with family and friends.
Amie started working at Eastgate in April 2017. She completed two business apprenticeship courses and now works at Bury and Mildenhall as an Administrator. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, going to comedy shows and music events.
Ginny worked at Eastgate as a veterinary nurse in the 1990s. After several years working in veterinary nutrition she has now rejoined the team as an administrator. She is married, has a teenage daughter and a fox red Labrador called Flynn.
Hannah began volunteering at Eastgate in 2018 after receiving support from the Bury St Edmunds branch with her retired war dog, who suffers from complicated medical conditions. What began as a way to pay back some of that support has turned into an obsession with the lab. Hannah currently serves as resident lab rat and general dogsbody (her words!). Her dog, Tek, occasionally accompanies her to supervise.
Caroline has been with Eastgate since 2016 as a receptionist. She has four tortoises and one dog, and enjoys spending time with family, decorating, sewing, baking, walking and quiz books.
Nicola joined the team in 2020, having worked previously on reception at a practice in Stevenage. She has an elderly border collie who still runs around like a puppy – until the next day! Together they enjoy going to the beach, country walks and holidays in the UK.
Elaine returned to the practice after 11 years. She has three children – two boys and a girl – as well as Tilly the springer spaniel. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Debbie started at Eastgate in February 2020 having previously worked as a doctor’s receptionist for 20 years, and before that Greene King for 20 years. She has always owned pets, and currently has two very spoilt cats. Outside work she loves reading and always has a book on the go, as well as travel and music.
Joanna joined our Bury St Edmunds team in November '21. She is currently in her 2nd year of studying Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University. Joanna loves all animals, especially her labrador Bella!
Rebecca joined our Bury St Edmunds reception team in Sept. ' 21. She has degree in Music and Theatre studies and is a busy mum of 6 children whose ages range from 21 down to 11. We not sure if Rebecca is crazy about animals or just plan crazy as she has 8 cats, 4 rabbits and 3 hamsters. She would LOVE a dog, clearly has no room (or time) for one.
Amber has always had a love for animals, including big dogs, with her first family pet being a great dane. With her fiance she has something like a small zoo, including a corn snake, three boa constrictors, a leopard gecko, a crested gecko and a musk turtle!
Aileen joined Eastgate in March 2022. Not having pets of her own she enjoys the wild animals in her garden; feeding Edward the Squirrel, Simon (Son of Sylvia) the field mouse, several regular visiting hedgehogs and many birds on a daily basis! Her son keeps hoping she'll bring a dog home for him one day....... never say never!
Elaine joined Eastgate in 2010 after working in the equine industry around the world for many years. She has completed a veterinary care assistant course at the College of Animal Welfare.
Julie joined our reception team in 2020. She is a keen gardener and enjoys walking in the countryside and visiting National Trust properties.
Gill joined Eastgate in 2017, and has worked as a veterinary receptionist for many years. She loves dogs and currently has a Labrador, border collie cross. She enjoys walking the dog and activities with her two children.
Pam joined Eastgate in 1994 and has seen a lot of changes to the practice in her time. She was born in Birmingham and has two children and four grandchildren.
Charlotte joined the practice in March 2018 in a complete career change! Her fox red Labrador keeps her busy with long country walks. In her spare time she enjoys all things beauty related and makeup is a real passion, as well as spending time with her family, and visiting new places with her fiancé.
Rita joined the team in 2019. She moved to the UK from Portugal very young and has grown up in Thetford where she still lives, with her partner and two beautiful boys. She enjoys spending time outdoors visiting new places and creating memories with her family. She also loves to travel and is very passionate about photography.
Louise joined our Thetford reception team in august '21. She is kept on her toes by her adorable kitten and Musk turtle! She loves to travel and regualrly goes to live music concerts and festivals. She is very creative, so much so she used to do SFX make up! She is also a dab hand at painting nails and doing nail art.
Katelin joined the practice in 2023, after moving to Thetford to be with her partner. She really enjoys camping and finding new places to explore, but when she's not doing that, she loves to be at home playing games on her PC with friends. She also has a cat who she adores named "Charlie" or better known as "Chonk"
