  • Jane Newton

    Senior Veterinary Surgeon

    Jane has worked at Eastgate since 2001. She loves all her patients but has a particularly soft spot for cats, and is very interested in feline medicine. When not at work she can usually be found in her beautiful garden with two hooligan cats and a flock of elderly hens.

  • Team Nicki Chandra Raj

    Nicki Chandra Raj

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Nicki graduated from Liverpool University in 2001 and, after spending time in a busy orthopaedic centre, joined Eastgate in 2002. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. Outside of work she enjoys fitness coaching and personal training, walking and cycling with her family, and spending time with her two much-loved and very spoilt cats.

  • Lisa Brown

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Lisa graduated in 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College and initially joined our Thetford surgery in 2014, before rejoining because she missed the team! Her main interests are internal medicine and looking after small furries. At home she has three ferrets and a naughty sausage dog called Sir Cumberland. She spends most of her spare time renovating her cottage, an ongoing task, as well as painting, sewing, camping and hiking.

  • Radley Edwards

    Radley Edwards

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Radley graduated from Cambridge University in 2010. He was in small animal practice around Suffolk & Cambridgeshire for 8 years and then spent two years in industry before returning to Eastgate in 2022. He is thoroughly enjoying being back in practice, and looks forward to meeting everyone and their pets.  Outside of work Radley enjoys dancing and spending time with own pets, Grayling the collie and Tigger the ragdoll.

    Vicki Rutland

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Vicki graduated from Bristol University in 2009 and has been working within the Eastgate team since 2014. She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery.

  • Team Banu Gopalakrishnan

    Banu Gopalakrishnan

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Banu studied at the Royal Veterinary College and joined Eastgate at the end of 2022 after having moved from her family home in North London. She enjoys all aspects of general practice and is keen to develop her skills in ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, Banu enjoys traveling, yoga and all things arts and crafts!

  • Rachel Watson

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Rachel graduated from the Royal Dick Veterinary School more years ago than she cares to remember, and has always worked in small animal practice. She joined the Eastgate team in 2018, and enjoys both medical and surgical aspects of daily practice.

  • Team Chousein Top

    Chousein Top

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Chousein graduated from School of Veterinary Medicine - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2021. He worked as a Veterinary Surgeon in Companion Animal Clinic in Greece and joined Eastgate in July 2023. He enjoys Soft Tissue Surgery and is keen to develop more skills in Ophthalmology. Outside of work, Chousein enjoys Formula 1 weekends, travel and cars.

    Katie Gibson

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Katie graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2021. She loves all creatures (great and small!) and is particularly interested in surgery and diagnostic imaging. She grew up in West Africa and enjoys travelling and sport, though she's equally happy curled up at home with a book on her lap and baked goods in the oven.

    Sasha graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2023. She joined Eastgate soon after graduating and is excited to develop her skills in all aspects of small animal work. In her spare time she enjoys running, climbing and socialising with friends in Cambridge

    Noor grew up in the Emirates and studied at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest, Hungary. She graduated in March 2023 and has a particular interest in feline medicine. She enjoys travelling, learning about new cultures, going to the beach and cooking

  • Jess Gauton

    Jess Gauton

    Veterinary Surgeon

    Jess graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2020 and, having worked in practices in Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire, joined Eastgate Vets at the start of 2024. Jess is currently undertaking a Small Animal Internal Medicine certificate and loves all things medicine related. She enjoys nothing more than meeting new and old clients and working together to achieve the best outcome for their companions. When not at work Jess enjoys traveling, eating cake and spending time with her husband and two naughty guinea pigs!
